Thank you for your interest in the National Park Service Student Trainee (Administrative Support (OA)) position for climate change. A. I have one year of general experience. General experience is experience that equipped the applicant with progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates acquired ability in the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of this position. Examples of qualifying general experience include but are not limited to: logistical support to an office or program, composing and editing correspondence, including technical briefs, spreadsheets, memoranda and reports; operating office equipment; maintaining files; preparing travel documents; maintaining equipment and office supplies.

B. I have successfully completed two years of education above high school in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. The education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time undergraduate academic study is defined as 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school.

C. I have a combination of general experience as described in A above and education as described in B above which total at least one year. For example, 6 months of general experience (50% of the general experience) and one year of education above high school (50% of the education) would qualify an applicant for this position.
