A bachelor's degree that included 15 semester hours in statistics (or in mathematics and statistics, provided at least 6 semester hours were in statistics), and 9 additional semester hours in one or more of the following: physical or biological sciences, medicine, education, or engineering; or in the social sciences including demography, history, economics, social welfare, geography, international relations, social or cultural anthropology, health sociology, political science, public administration, psychology, etc. Credit toward meeting statistical course requirements should be given for courses in which 50 percent of the course content appears to be statistical methods, e.g., courses that included studies in research methods in psychology or economics such as tests and measurements or business cycles, or courses in methods of processing mass statistical data such as tabulating methods or electronic data processing (Must provide transcript(s) at time of application submission).
B. A combination of education and experience -- courses as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. The experience should have included a full range of professional statistical work such as (a) sampling, (b) collecting, computing, and analyzing statistical data, and (c) applying statistical techniques such as measurement of central tendency, dispersion, skewness, sampling error, simple and multiple correlation, analysis of variance, and tests of significance (Must provide transcript(s) at time of application submission).
C. My education and/or experience is not reflected in choice A or B above.

2. From the descriptions below, please choose the best answer that demonstrates your experience and/or education related to the additional requirements of the GS-09.

A. I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal service that included analyzing statistical data and drawing rational inferences; utilizing Statistical Analysis System (SAS) programs to produce reports and generate statistics; and applying statistical theories and techniques (i.e. sampling variances, data collection).
B. I have a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree; or 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree (Must provide transcript(s) at time of application submission).
C. I have some specialized experience as described in A, but less than one year; and I have more than one year but less than two years of education as described in B. I have computed the percentage of the requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100%. (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond one year by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.) Must provide transcript(s) at time of application submission.
D. My education and/or experience is not reflected in choice A, B, or C above.

3. From the descriptions below, please choose the best answer that demonstrates your experience and/or education related to the additional requirements of the GS-11.

A. I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 in the Federal service that included analyzing statistical data and drawing rational inferences; developing and/or modifying Statistical Analysis System (SAS) programs that produce reports and generate statistics; and using data collection and analysis techniques to determine cause of errors; ensuing adequate representation using sample selection techniques.
B. I have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree (Must provide transcript(s) at time of application submission).
C. I have some specialized experience as described in A, but less than one year; and I have more than two years but less than three years of education as described in B. I have computed the percentage of the requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100%. (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond two years by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.) Must provide transcript(s) at time of application submission.
D. My education and/or experience is not reflected in choice A, B, or C above.

4. From the descriptions below, please choose the best answer that demonstrates your experience related to the additional requirements of the GS-12.

A. I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 in the Federal service that included analyzing statistical data and drawing rational inferences; initiating, formulating, and planning statistical projects; preparing comprehensive and publishable reports; and developing and/or modifying Statistical Analysis System (SAS) programs that produce reports and generate statistics.
B. My experience is not reflected in choice A above.
