1. Install, configure, test, maintain and troubleshoot server hardware, software and Unix/Linux operating systems including Sun Solaris, IBM AIX, RedHat Enterprise, CentOS, Ubuntu and SUSE.

2. Install and configure scientific, management and business applications on Unix & Linux servers.

3. Install, configure, test, maintain and troubleshoot IBM Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) hardware and software.

4. Perform data backups on a regular basis as required by Federal guidelines and standard operating procedures.

5. Participate in the development of computer information resources for scientific computing, high performance computing clusters and clouds.

6. Evaluate organizational technology use and needs and recommend improvements such as hardware and software upgrades and efficient utilization.

7. Configure and troubleshoot connectivity to IBM V7000. Storage Area Network.

8. Provide guidance and recommendations for planning, configuring and managing server access and usage to address organization research and management challenges.

9. Participate in document maintenance activities.

10. Ensure servers are configured, maintained and validated in compliance with good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
