I have a bachelor's or higher degree that included at least 30 semester hours in one or a combination of the following: biological sciences, chemistry, pharmacy, physical sciences, food technology, nutrition, medical science, engineering, epidemiology, veterinary medical sciences, or a related scientific field that provided knowledge directly related to consumer safety officer work. The 30 semester hours can include up to 8 semester hours in statistics, or course work that included the principles, theory, or practical application of computers or computer programming.
B. I have a combination of education and experience-courses consisting of at least 30 semester hours in the fields of study described in response A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
C. I do not have the education and/or experience described in responses A or B above.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

In addition to meeting the BASIC QUALIFICATIONS for one of the series. Applicants must also qualify for a specific grade level. Your answers must be supported by the content of your resume and/or transcripts.

One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent one year of full-time study. If number cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours will be considered an academic year of graduate study.

When combining education and experience, first take the total number of semester hours (or equivalent) earned and subtract 36 semester hours. Divide the remaining hours by 18 semester hours (or equivalent); then take the total number of months of experience and divide by 12 months; finally, add the two percentages.
