Minimum Qualifications - Budget Analyst, GS-0560-7/9

A. I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service as a budget analyst or related position. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying specialized experience includes: tracking and monitoring financial and program trends, analyzing and interpreting current and historic financial data, analyzing and compiling data for the most efficient and economic use of funding for program goals. Experience must have demonstrated performing the work independently using well established policies, procedures and techniques.
B. I do not have the one year of specialized experience as described in 2A above, but I have completed two full years of graduate level study leading to a master's degree, or master's or equivalent graduate degree that is directly related to this position and has provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. Such fields may include business administration, economics, accounting, governmental budgeting, and public administration.

I do not have one year of specialized experience as described in 2A above, or the two years of graduate education in a directly related field as described in 2B above, but I have an equivalent combination of such education and experience (50 percent of the experience requirement), and 27 semester hours or 41 quarter hours of appropriate directly related graduate education (50 percent of the education requirement).
