My qualifying experience involved performing the following types of duties: Helping to manage community based crime prevention program, advising on ways for drug demand reduction, and public outreach program, working as a community outreach, public policy liaison or similar function that involved advising and making recommendations on programs effectiveness, helping to develop collaborative relationships with various constituents; and/or evaluating the effectiveness of programs to assist management in maintaining programs that meet the public safety needs of communities.

4. Conducts special events, workshops, seminars and other meetings with various community organizations including racial, ethnic, economic, faith-based and social groups, bar associations and community organizations.

6. Serves as a liaison between management and community service organizations, colleges, and universities, government agencies on matters related to strategic approaches to public safety.

7. Advises management and other federal agencies on the organization, operation, responsibilities, and strengths of community outreach organizations involved in preventing juvenile crime, violence and drug abuse.

8. Provides leadership to various community organizations in formulating crime prevention community goals and strategies to racial, ethnic, economic, faith-based and social groups, bar associations and community organizations.

9. Ensures participation in and support from various community groups and organizations including racial, ethnic, economic, faith-based and social groups, bar associations and other community organizations and conforms to applicable guidelines, procedures and ethical standards.

11. Advises management on matters relating to juvenile justice and delinquency prevention programs.

12. Recommends policies and procedures for coordinating with various levels of government and non-governmental entities involved in juvenile justice programs to avoid and resolve conflicts.

13. Negotiates strategies, goals and approaches to crime prevention with diverse community groups and organizations including racial, ethnic, economic, faith-based and social groups, bar associations and other community organizations.

14. Considers the needs and goals of diverse communities including racial, ethnic, economic, faith-based and social groups, bar associations and other community organizations.

15. Develops public information strategy to address the impact of crime and enforcement activity on the community including racial, ethnic, economic, faith-based and social groups, bar associations and community organizations.

21. Represents the legal office on boards, committees and working groups concerned with the community-based public safety.

22. Conducts workshops, seminars and meetings.

23. Facilitates effective communication between the legal office and program participants and supporters.

24. Keeps current on federal legislation and regulations that affect community-based public safety initiatives, training and funding resources.

25. Identifies research, technical assistance, funding and training resources available through government and non-government entities for use in community-based programs.

26. Works with individuals and groups to develop strategies to encourage and promote community involvement and broad-spectrum governmental support in programs that address crime prevention related to juvenile gang and delinquency issues.
