Thank you for your interest in a position with the Department of Justice (DOJ). Your response to this assessment questionnaire, in conjunction with other portions of your completed application, will be evaluated in making screening decisions.

For each of the following questions, please select the response that best describes your education and/or experience. You may select only one response for each question. If you feel that your education or experience exceeds all of the descriptions for a particular question, choose the description that is the closest level to the experience or education that you possess. Failure to respond to these questions will result in an ineligible rating.

1. From the descriptions below, select the ONE response that BEST describes the education and/or experience that you possess that demonstrates your ability to perform as a GS-303-05, Administrative Technician.

A. I have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 level in Federal service. My qualifying experience meets the following definition: Progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of this position. Examples include: performing a variety of clerical or administrative support services which include experience preparing a variety of documents using advanced software functions; processing incoming mail; maintaining an inventory of expendable supplies; receiving invoices for supplies and services; arranging travel; preparing time and attendance records.

B. I have successfully completed four academic years of education above the high school level or I possess a bachelor's degree or higher degree.

C. I have less than the full amount of experience described in A or post-high school education described in B, but I have a combination of specialized and post-high school education which fully meets the qualification requirement for the position. (Please note: Only education in excess of two full years or the first 60 semester hours is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. (Refer to the Qualification section of the vacancy announcement for instructions on how to combine specialized experience and post-high school education.)

D. I do not have the education or experience as described above.

3. Provide a variety of clerical and administrative duties.

4. Maintain an inventory of office equipment such as cell phones, printers, laptops, etc.

5. Process outgoing mail in accordance with U.S. Postal and agency regulations.

6. Prepares property hand receipts for all employees who are issued personal property.

7. Properly adhere to established internal controls regarding the handling of funds collected by the office.

8. Work closely with the building manager to ensure building maintenance and repairs are performed promptly and adequately.

9. Answer phones and greet visitors. Deal with inquiries and route to proper authority for resolution.

10. Provide all aspects of mail operations including receipt, routing, dispatch, and control of packages, mail and all other forms of written or printed communications.

11. Conducts wall-to-wall inventory annually to ensure all equipment is accounted for.
