1. Choose the one answer that best describes how you meet the
basic education requirement for the Contract Specialist, GS-1102-13.

A. I qualify for this position because I have completed all mandatory training prescribed by the head of the agency for progression to GS-13 or higher level contracting positions, including at least 4-years experience in contracting or related positions. At least 1 year of that experience must have been specialized experience at or equivalent to work at the GS-12 level, and must have provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the work of the position. AND I have completed a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree, that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.
B. I have been employed as Contract Specialist or Procurement Analyst, GS-1102-13 since at least January 1, 2000.
C. My experience and/or education do not match the choices above.

A. I qualify for this position at the GS-13 level because I have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: serving as a contract specialist responsible for pre-award and post-award functions, including price/cost analysis, negotiation, and administration for services, materials, and equipment associated with research, development, test, evaluation, and/or production activities of one or more organizations, typically involving specialized equipment, professional or technical services, and/or specialized construction; reviewing and analyzing requests for the procurement of complex equipment, services, and/or construction, sole source, and other required clearances, and preparing documentation; preparing solicitation documents, incorporating specific provisions; analyzing proposals for conformance with the solicitation; conducting extensivve negotiations before and/or after contract award; negotiating with potential contractors; awarding contracts within delegated contracting officer authority; and/or administering complex contracts, including monitoring contractor's performance.
