Examples of specialized experience includes, but is not limited to, work involving preparing or advising on natural resources regulations and guidance; protecting sensitive habitats; ensuring that activities on public land are conducted in accordance with applicable laws; developing environmental reports and impact statements; developing and implementing land use plans; identifying problems associated with public and private land use; and coordinating the surveying, monitoring, analyzing, and evaluating of natural resources to permit multiple land uses while preserving the area's ecological viability.

B. I have a master's or equivalent degree OR I have completed 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree (36 semester hours, 54 quarter hours or equivalent).

C. I have a combination of specialized experience as described in A and more than one year of graduate education as described in B when combined together meets 100% of the total requirements for the position. To compute, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond one year by 18. Add the two percentages. 7. Determine appropriate natural resource management objectives, evaluation, procedures, protection and enhancement of trust lands.

8. Ensure compliance with natural resource program policies and directives; and directs implementation of program changes or adjustments to conform to program policies, standards and objectives.

9. Confer with agency land operations officers/trust resources officers in coordinating development of plans and programs for the conservation, development, improvement, maintenance, management and operation of Indian water, soil, forage, timber, and wildlife resources.

10. Assure that land operations program is properly integrated with appropriate federal, tribal, state, county and local natural resource and related programs.

11. Acquire and maintain a working knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, policies, standards pertaining to natural resources management.

12. Coordinate with landowners, lessees, and permittees developing sound management plans for protection and enhancement of trust lands.

22. Determine grazing capacity according to type of livestock, soil and forage conditions and other factors.

23. Prepare findings, reports, and recommendations based on science, knowledge, logical conclusions or persuasive arguments.

24. Identify and monitor key range plants in determining management prescriptions to maintain or improve range health.

25. Identify and monitor pests, noxious weeds and introduced species and prescribe treatments to contain, reduce or eliminate them.
